On July 11, 2011 Marengo and the surrounding areas were hit by one of the most powerful weather systems experienced in years.

Gordon Lee said he remembers his first call for the Marengo Rescue Squad on July 12, 1961.

As I sit here in the cool, air-conditioned office writing this article, I am reminded that outside we are experiencing a July heat wave of epic proportions.

This camp is designed for children who have suffered burn injuries. This was the camp’s 21st year.
