The results of the 12th Annual First National Challenge were announced at Marengo Community High School on Saturday, January 11th, during the “Winter Challenge”, at which Marengo and Harvard Varsity Wrestling, Varsity Girls Basketball and Varsity Boys Basketball competed.

The “First National Challenge” is an event that encourages community participation and school spirit while raising funds for the Marengo and Harvard Booster Club programs.

Lesley Pace and Raul Meza of First National Bank, along with sponsors, presented a check to Harvard Booster Club Treasurer, Jeff Overly, and Marengo Booster club member, Nikki DeBoer. A total of $21,714 was raised from the First National Challenge event held in the fall at Harvard High School. This amount was split evenly between the two schools and each club received $10,857.00.

Since the inception of the First National Challenge in Marengo and Harvard in 2007, over $210,970 has been raised. Many thanks to all the sponsors and the community for their support of this event to raise funds for the Booster Club programs.
