News from the Marengo Park District Foundation

The Marengo Park District Foundation is busy…busy…busy. We are disappointed that the pool season has come to an end. We greatly appreciate all of the volunteers, and Harvard Dairy Queen, who helped make the concession stand a success. To all of the lifeguards who worked hard to improve the pool and keep swimmers safe, we appreciate your help also. We are looking forward to next year; but in the meantime, new projects begin.

At the M.O.R.E. Center, we are able to function because of our dedicated volunteers. They are the lifeblood of our existence. Without our large pool of volunteers, our programs could not be as encompassing as they are presently.

Saturday Night on Mainstreet Events

Runner Sets Records, Receives Scholarships

For Shawney Damisch, having seven track and field records under her belt was just the beginning. Shawney, a Marengo resident and MCHS Class of 2011 graduate, said the Missouri State University track and field coach set two goal times for her.

New Miss Settlers’ Days Scholarship Contest

Starting this year, the Marengo Miss Settlers’ Days Queen will be chosen based on her essay. Spring Ettner, a sub-member of the Settlers’ Days, Inc. Scholarship Committee and Scholarship Coordinator, said that for the past couple years, the queen pageant has not been drawing in as many participants as it did in the past.
